TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

In an interview on the NPR program "Fresh Air", Julianne Moore said that she drew on Courtney Love and Patti Smith for inspiration for her character in this movie, who is (like Love and Smith) a rock star who is also a mother.

Joanna Vanderham replaced Evan Rachel Wood.

Working with 6-year-old actress Onata Aprile meant that the crew had to do most of the filming before her bedtime. However, during a scene that had to be filmed at night, Aprile fell asleep, and could not be woken up. The scene had to be shot two weeks later.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Henry James.

On the A24 podcast, Nathan Fielder admitted that this film made him cry so hard that he almost fell walking out of the theater.

Popular Dialogues

"Lincoln: I'm her... sorta... like... Maisie's stepfather."

"Beale: [upon meeting Lincoln] I'd give you a couple of pointers, but I doubt that the Jacobean Tragedy that was our relationship would apply to the farce that you two guys are playing out."
