The film was shot in just 10 days.
The film was shot mostly on the iPhone 7 Plus in 4K using the app FiLMiC Pro, though not entirely. For some shots, Soderbergh would use a Panasonic Lumix GH5, such as those requiring a telephoto lens or the car scenes where the vehicle would shake so much the phone would be unusable.
The budget was only $1.2 million according to "The Times".
To get the dolly shots in the film, Steven Soderbergh would hold the iPhone on a DJI Gimbal while sitting in a wheelchair and a crew member pushed him around.
The film was shot in chronological order.
"[first lines] David Strine: [narrating] I love it when you wear blue. I mean, I love you in anything. But you wore blue that first time I saw you, so anytime I see you in blue, it reminds me of how I felt at that moment. How I never really knew what being alive was until I saw you. You unlocked something inside me that day, something I didn't even realize was there. And right then, I knew that nothing in my life was ever going to be the same. In that moment, I was transformed permanently. You did that."
"Nate Hoffman: Column number two. For life. [meaning that she's sane]"
