This is in keeping with the original version of the character from the golden age of comics (World War 2/the 1940's.) That was retconned into existing on Earth 2 of the DC comics multiverse where the Justice Society lived.

This is second time that Stana Katic and Matt Bomer have worked together after Superman: Unbound.

Despite its use being suggested once, at no time does Wonder Woman employ her magic lasso against any of her adversaries.

Iris West is black in accordance with The Flash (2014). In the original comic book stories, Iris is white.
