A sequel to the 2021 animated "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" film. This is also the 6th diary of a wimpy kid movie.
The color of Greg's diary is blue, which is also the color of the cover's book the film is based on.
Unlike the previous adaptation Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2011) some of the characters like Holly Hills and Chirag Gupta only have background roles. It's also not a compiled side adaptation of the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw.
