TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Harrison Ford thought that "Frantic" was a misleading title for the film as the script didn't have a frantic pace. He suggested that "Moderately Disturbed" would be a more appropriate title. Roman Polanski wasn't amused.

Due to studio pressure, 15 minutes were trimmed from the original running time and a new ending was shot.

Director Roman Polanski and actress Emmanuelle Seigner, after working together on this film, were married on 30th August 1989.

Interviewed on 2nd August 2015 in Paris before an outdoor screening of Frantic (1988), actress Emmanuelle Seigner said she didn't know who star Harrison Ford was at the time the film was shot. Seigner said that she was only nineteen years of age and from a theater family. When she was further asked about Ford, she described him as being nice to everyone. She also mentioned that he was very protective of her, revealing that he had a second set of pedals installed in her car for use in the making of the movie. This was due to his concern about the young Seigner's driving ability.

Director Roman Polanski returned to the Parisian city thriller milieu with this movie around twelve years after his earlier Paris set thriller film The Tenant (1976). Some of the milieu and settings in the two pictures are similar.

"Richard Walker: Dede's been dead for over 12 hours. Michelle: How do you know? What are you, a doctor? Richard Walker: No corpse stinks that much after only 12 hours. Take my word for it. Yes, I am a doctor."
