Ungodly Acts, a brand new, original Lifetime movie, was inspired by a true story. According to the Movies Based On True Stories Archives, the 2015 lifetime movie was inspired by and based on the murder of Bethany Deaton, a young woman who was found dead in her car. The 2012 case was in the national news after details of her death suggested that she had been killed at the request of a religious leader, according to The Daily Mail.
