Ticket To Paradise Review

Georgia and David, a long-divorced couple, work together to prevent Lily's (Kaitlyn Dever) wedding because Lily only met her future husband 37 days previously while on vacation in Bali to celebrate her law school graduation. Lily has made the decision to leave her work behind in order to wed Gede, a charming local seaweed farmer portrayed by Maxime Bouttier.Even though her parents are at odds with one another, they are determined that Lily won't make the same error that they did. The movie by director and co-writer Ol Parker makes an excessive effort to elicit our sympathies for both couples. David and Georgia rightly worry that their daughter is moving too rapidly into a marriage and a foreign new place. That would make many parents uneasy. However, Lily and Gede are always charming, impressionable, and upbeat, so we're also not eager for their relationship to end. It's a barrage of sympathy. Strangely, none of the characters in this star vehicle turn out to be really likeable.
