Ben Woolf's final film.
Adrienne Barbeau's role in this film is an homage to the same radio host role she played in the movie The Fog (1980).
The Carpenter Bar candy bar in the "Sweet Tooth" segment is a less than subtle homage to director John Carpenter.
In the segment 'Sweet Tooth' the parents are played by Greg Grunberg and Clare Krame. Their names are not spoken on screen but the credits show them as Alex Mathis and Lt. K Brandt-Mathis. In the movie 'Big Ass Spider!' (2013) the same actors played the characters Alex Mathis and Lt. Karly Brant who become a couple by the end of the movie. Grunberg is also wearing the same exterminator coveralls he wore in 'Big Ass Spider!'
One of the kids trick-or-treating is dressed up as "Snake Plissken", the main character from the John Carpenter movies Escape from New York (1981) and Escape from L.A. (1996).
