When Ruben goes to visit his dad Peter, Peter is informed by the server Harry. Harry is played by Jack Thompson's real life son Billy.

Debut theatrical feature film directed by Australian actor-writer-director Brendan Cowell.

The film was made and first released about six years after its source stage play of the same name by Brendan Cowell had been first performed at the Belvoir Street Theatre in Sydney, Australia during 2009. Cowell also wrote the screenplay and directed this film adaptation.

Ray often refers to Ruben using names of high achievers - Kubrick for Stanley Kubrick the film director, Hendrix for Jimi Hendrix the musician, Tyson for Mike Tyson the boxer, Mozart for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart the composer and Bradman for Don Bradman the cricketer.
