IMDb"Maybe I Do," directed by Michael Jacobs, is a comedy about two couples whose children are about to get married. The film tries to be a farce but ends up as a regressive, anti-sex propaganda that lacks emotional depth. The film follows the lives of six protagonists, and the story unfolds in two nights. However, the far-fetched coincidences and the messy editing make it difficult to connect with the characters. Despite the presence of an ongoing affair, a possible affair, and a relationship on the brink of marriage, the film is strangely sexless and lacks the emotional evolution necessary for engaging storytelling. Even with the talented cast, including Diane Keaton and Susan Sarandon, the film fails to live up to its potential. While "Maybe I Do" tries to be a comedy, its message about infidelity and conservative values is regressive and outdated. Ultimately, the film falls short in delivering an entertaining and engaging experience for its audience.
