TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Rosanna Arquette disliked working with Jean-Claude Van Damme and stated in many interviews that she only took the role because good parts were few and far between.

As originally written by Joe Eszterhas and Richard Marquand, Pals, which evolved into Nowhere to Run, was a character-driven drama without action sequences, the only retaining element being an escaped convict who falls in love with a neighboring widow and becomes a father figure to her children. Eszterhas disowned the final product.

The role of Sam was originally meant for Mel Gibson.

Jean-Claude Van Damme later said " the script was... not that good. The writer told me he was going to fix everything. I was in his house, he shook my hand, he promised me, but he didn't fix it."

Sam Gillen's motorcycle is a 1969 650cc Triumph T120 Bonneville.

Popular Dialogues

"[after shooting the bad guy] Sam Gillen: Au revoir, fucker!"

"Clydie: Where are you from? Sam Gillen: Quebec. Clydie: What do you do there? Sam Gillen: What difference does it make? Clydie: It's an innocent question. Sam Gillen: I'm a lawyer. Clydie: Where'd you learn to fight like that? Sam Gillen: Law school."
