Film was announced longtime back as sequel to Namastey London 2007 and was to star Akshay Kumar.But due to other film commitments of Akshay Kumar Vipul Shah decided to make it with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra.
Poster of film created a controversy.The Indian map shown in the poster didn't show Aksai Chin region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Vipul Shah earlier titled the film Namastey Canada as the title Namastey England was with Akshay Kumar who was keen to work with Vipul Shah in future with the title.later Akshay Kumar gave away the title to Vipul Shah.
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra will be seen together after Ishaqzaade 2012.Before Namastey England they started shooting for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.Which was to release in August 2018 but postponed to March 2019.
