TRIVIA

Trivia

Longhorns quarterback James Street is portrayed by his son Juston Street.

Finn Wittrock had never played football when he signed on to star in the movie. Before filming, a football camp was held to teach him the game, to help the players get into shape, to rehearse the plays for the game scenes, and to help the players feel like a real team.

The officials in the Texas-Arkansas football sequence were actually football officials...not actors.

The Plano Senior High School Marching Band appeared as UT, Berkley, and Texas Tech band extras for stadium shots filmed in Dallas/Fort Worth.

To commemorate the release of the film, the University of Texas football team wore "throwback" uniforms similar in design to those worn during the 1969 season for their game on Saturday November 7, 2015, 4 days before the film's release. These uniforms included the burnt orange jerseys minus the players names on the backs and the "100" football logos on the helmet. Angelo Pizzo was among those in attendance for the game. Texas won the game beating conference foe the University of Kansas 59-20.
