This documentary was shot over the course of 7 years and originally supposed to be featured as an extra on the MK2 French release of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me 2-disc Special Edition. When the MK2 Special Edition got delayed, it was shelved and it wasn't until CBS acquired the distribution rights to Fire Walk With Me that they decided to complete and release the documentary.
Brian Kursar, the producer of this documentary is also the co-producer of the CBS Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery and Missing Pieces Box Set.
At the time of editing the documentary, David Lynch was working on editing the Missing Pieces and thus they were unavailable to edit into the documentary during segments where the cast and crew described the scenes. Twin Peaks producer Sabrina Sutherland assisted by providing the documentary team with many rare Missing Pieces photos from David Lynch's personal collection.
