Sir Billy Connolly admitted in an interview that when he was offered the role of Lord Dargis in this movie, he wasn't aware that Garfield (2004) existed.

Garfield is one of two characters who have been portrayed by Bill Murray and the late Lorenzo Music. The other is Dr. Peter Venkman of the "Ghostbusters" incarnations.
