TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

There are rumors that if you play a muted DEATHGASM and Iron Maiden's "Live After Death" simultaneously it syncs up perfectly due to precise editing. The filmmakers have yet to comment.

The music video where Deathgasm is in the woods wearing face paint is a reference to the well-known (for being bad) music video: "Call of the Wintermoon" by Immortal.

The movie concept is based on the first Evil Dead (1980). Both movies are about teenagers who unknowingly summon demons, then both have to fight to survive and figure out a way to reverse the spell from the object that was used to release the curse in the first place.

After obtaining the Hexan Sword Record, Zakk discovers that it is just a Rick Astley record. Rick Astley's song "Never gonna give you up" is wildly used to trick people on the internet by leading them to this song under false pretenses, a practice called "Rickrolling."

Director Jason Lei Howden performed guest backing vocals on the DEATHGASM theme song by NZ band Bulletbelt.

Popular Dialogues

"Abigail: The possessed bodies, they kill all in their path in preparation for Aeloth's ascension on the next blood moon. On the Devil's hour. Brodie: Oh shit, the moon is red tonight. When is the Devil's hour? Abigail: Three AM. Zakk: Three AM Pacific or Eastern time? Do demons recognize daylight savings?"

"Brodie: Do you - do you like metal? Medina: Um, isn't it just a bunch of guys screaming? Brodie: No way! Well... apart from grindcore. And death metal is kind of like that. And deathcore, screamo, pornogrind, black metal, metalcore, thrash, and mordorcore. But apart from those... Medina: It's just not my thing. I don't really get it. Brodie: It's like, when life sucks, and you feel alone and empty. You stick on some metal and life is better, because... because somebody else knows the pain and the rage that you're going through, y'know?"
