The shooting of the film was very difficult because of the climate and also infected water, Besides, Lon Chaney Jr arrived on the set totally drunk and was unable to proceed his job. He quit rapidly from the shooting.

Glenn Ford and his son had a difficult relation on the shooting of the film. His son later confessed that it was a bitter time for both of them; Ford just got out of a difficult divorce and behaved in a strange way with his son: one day he was friendly and the other nasty. Glenn Ford's son compared his old man with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Veteran stuntman Dave Sharpe ,and B western star during the forties ,plays the soldier who gets an arrow in the back and falls through a window.
