The movie's "Akwarium" is title is a Polish word which translates into the English language as "Aquarium".

The movie was made and released about just over a decade (or eleven years) after its source novel "Aquarium" (aka ("Inside the Aquarium") by Viktor Suvorov had been first published in 1985.

This cold war espionage drama is a co-production of three European countries: Poland, Ukraine, and Germany, with its spoken language being in Polish.
