George Lawrie, an extra in the film, is the great great grandson of Louisa Gould.
The coin that Louisa gives to Bill is a Jersey 1/13 Shilling of Queen Victoria.
The film's opening prologue reads: ''Jersey. Channel Islands. Summer 1942. The only British territory to fall under Nazi rule. Adolf Hitler orders that Englishmen not born on the islands be deported to Germany with their families. Men captured elsewhere in Europe are brought to the islands and forced to work.'' The film's title 'Another Mother's Son' then appears followed by a title card that states: ''A True Story''.
The film's closing epilogue reads: ''Louisa's son, Ralph, survived the war and in 1995 met Bill for the first time at the unveiling of a plaque in Jersey to commemorate the bravery of his mother.'' LOUISA GOLD 1891 - 1945. ''The value of life is not measured in length but in deeds.''
