Xiaomi 14 series’ cameras were well received by experts (Xiaomi 14 Ultra review) and customers alike. The Leica partnership proved to be beyond just namesake advertising, especially on the ‘Ultra’ variant where the resulting images had a touch of Leica colour science. Now, it looks like the company wants to take things up a notch with the Xiaomi 15 series as tipster ‘Smart Pikachu’ has shared some interesting details about the cameras.
Xiaomi 15 series might bring improved optics
- According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 15 series could offer a full focal length, large aperture main camera. A large aperture means the lens is letting in more light
- The lineup is expected to arrive with improved lenses and feature photosensitive macro shooting, flash shooting, and full focal length master portraits.
- The Xiaomi 15 lineup could come equipped with the new OmniVision sensor.
- The tipster further notes the 1-inch sensor will again be exclusive to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra model much like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
- However, he also says ‘Wait for Ultra’, which means that the company might again release the Ultra variant separately at a later date after the standard and Pro versions debut later this year.
- For context, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro launched in October 2024, while the Ultra model debuted 4 months later.

Earlier leaks have suggested the Xiaomi 15 Pro and Ultra model might get an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This will offer a larger unlocking area. The lineup could be one of the first (if not the first) to be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. In comparison, the Xiaomi 14 was the first to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro is tipped to get a 50MP ultra-large primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. While this is the same camera setup as the Xiaomi 14 Pro, the sensors could be different and the resulting images might also look different. The Pro variant could get a 2K quad-curved AMOLED display and a 5,000mAh battery, up from Xiaomi 14 Pro’s 4,880mAh cell.
The standard Xiaomi 15 is tipped to get a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 2500 x 1200 pixels and an LTPO panel with 1 to 120Hz refresh rates. This is the same display size as the Xiaomi 14.
