Vivo Y28s specifications, features

The Vivo Y28s sports a 6.56-inch HD+ display with 1612 × 720 pixels resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, 269 PPI, 840 nits brightness, and a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC with ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. We get 8GB LPDD4x RAM and 256GB eMMC 5.1 native storage but this is further expandable via a microSD card.

The phone runs on Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 custom skin out of the box. The Vivo Y28s features a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash and a 2MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. There is an 8MP shooter for selfies and video chats.

There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and an IP64 rating for water resistance. Connectivity options include 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

What’s new on the Vivo Y28s?

The Vivo Y28s is a successor to the Vivo Y27s. The major upgrade is the 5G network support but this comes at a cost as there are some downgrades. Firstly, the display size is trimmed from a 6.64-inch panel to 6.56-inch on the new Vivo Y28s. However, we only get HD+ resolution, a downgrade from an FHD+ screen.

The Snapdragon 680 chipset is replaced with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. This enables 5G support and some performance gains. The rear and front camera setup remains unchanged: 50MP + 2MP and an 8MP shooter on the front. Though the battery capacity is the same at 5,000mAh, the fast charging is downgraded from 44W to 15W.
