Following the launch of the Vivo X100 Ultra in China, alongside the Vivo X100s and X100s Pro, speculations about the Vivo X200 series have started appearing online. Though not confirmed, the Vivo X200 series will likely consist of the Vivo X200 and Vivo X200 Pro.

Now, a tipster says the upcoming Vivo X200 series will be the first to come equipped with the yet-to-be-announced MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor. Here are the expected details of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset.

Vivo X200 series chipset details tipped

  • Through Weibo, tipster Smart Pikachu has revealed that the upcoming Vivo X200 series phones will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, and they will be the first smartphones to feature this MediaTek chipset.
  • It is worth mentioning that the Vivo X100 and the X100 Pro were also the first phones that featured the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. Therefore, this speculation might be true. However, official details are awaited, as we are months away from the launch of the series and the chipset.
  • The tipster also stated that the S-series will not be released, hinting that there will be no successors of the Vivo X100s and Vivo X100s Pro. No other details about the Vivo X200 series have been revealed so far.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset details

Alongside the Vivo X200 series, the upcoming OPPO Find X8 series has also recently been tipped to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. For those unaware, the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC will be the company’s next flagship chipset and will compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.

Here are the differences between the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC based on Geekbench and AnTuTu scores:

  • The AnTuTu benchmark showed that the Dimensity 9400 SoC fared well with a CPU score of 7,86,574 compared to the 7,02,689 CPU score of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
  • The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC’s GPU score was 14,22,243. However, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset falls behind with a score of 13,30,057.
  • The overall performance score for the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC was 34,49,366, while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC scored 31,33,570.
  • Meanwhile, the Geekbench website showed that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, with a score of 2,845, edges out the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, which scored 2,776 in the single-core test.
  • However, the Dimensity 9400 chipset scored 11,739 points. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC managed only 10,628 points in the multi-core test.
Though not confirmed, these chipsets are expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2024, most likely in October or November. More details about the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC are expected to be revealed soon.
