The brand unveiled Vivo Watch 2 in an in-person event yesterday after it had officially teased the watch sometime back. From the event, we can see the Vivo Watch 2 inherits a circular dial and simplistic design elements. The watch gets two buttons on the side possibly to aid control of the watch. Two case finishes - metallic silver and matte black - will be on offer, and multiple band options are also expected.
Vivo in the press conference also indicated at an alliance with China's Big Three telecom companies — China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile. It was announced that the Vivo Watch 2 will become the first smartwatch from the company to get eSIM-based SMS functionality. This means that the Vivo Watch 2 can enable communication via SMS without having to be paired with a partner device via Bluetooth, internet, or Wi-Fi. This feature will be enabled by the three telecom giants from China.
The Vivo Watch 2 is expected to get an OLED display, a heart rate tracker, GPS, a step counter, a 515mAh battery amongst other improvements over its predecessor, i.e. Vivo Watch.
