Vivo V30e vs Realme 12 Pro performance comparison: clash of two Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 phones

Vivo V30e and Realme 12 Pro both rock the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, but are retailing at different price points. The Realme 12 Pro (review) is selling in India for under Rs 25,000, whereas the Vivo V30e (review) can be yours at Rs 27,999. Of course, there are other parameters between the two devices as well, but if performance is what you are after and are wondering which smartphone is better at it, this article is here to help. AnTuTu

The AnTuTu test goes in favour of Realme 12 Pro, with a marginally higher 5,94,028 score as opposed to Vivo V30e’s 5,69,641. While not drastically, this indicates that the Realme smartphone will offer slightly better graphics and CPU performance compared to the Vivo phone, although don’t expect a significant empirical difference as they are both powered by the same chipset.

Geekbench

When it comes to task completion, the Vivo V30e is expected to be faster than its rival, thanks to its marginally higher Geekbench score. The handset scored 921 and 2,771 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. In contrast, the Realme 12 Pro achieved scores of 861 in the single-core test and 2,601 in the multi-core test on Geekbench. Again, since the scores are similar, the performance difference might not be easily discernible.

Throttling test

For the throttling test, we ran Burnout tests on both devices. It turns out the Realme 12 Pro will throttle less under intense load compared to the Vivo V30e. The latter throttles roughly 81 percent of its peak performance, whereas Realme’s performance only drops by 17 percent following the test.

Gaming test

Benchmark results aside, how the smartphones fare against each other in the real world. We attempt to find out in this gaming test. The Vivo V30e and Realme 12 Pro both were equally capable of running Call of Duty, Real Racing 3, and BGMI with moderate graphics. However, thermal management is marginally better on the Realme 12 Pro compared to the Vivo V30e. The Vivo phone heated up by roughly 20.8 degrees in total after playing the games for 30 minutes each. In contrast, the Realme 12 Pro’s thermals increased by 19.2 degrees.

Winner: Realme 12 Pro

Verdict

  • Both the Vivo V30e and Realme 12 Pro offer competitive performance with their Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. The Realme smartphone emerges as a better choice for its price, boasting superior performance in AnTuTu, throttling, and gaming tests.
  • However, for those willing to stretch their budget slightly, the Vivo V30e presents itself as a worthy consideration, given its relatively higher Geekbench score. The handset should be quicker at completing tasks than its counterpart.
