What is Truecaller AI Call Scanner?
Truecaller has introduced the new AI Call Scanner feature, which is designed to identify AI voices in real time during phone calls. This feature aims to detect AI voice scam calls by giving users a tool to recognise and avoid potential scams. The Truecaller AI Call Scanner works by analysing the voice patterns of incoming calls to determine if they are generated by AI.
Recently, several reports stated that fraudsters take samples of voices from videos of different people on social media platforms and use AI to clone them. The scammers then use the AI-cloned voice by calling the person's family members for money-related fraudulent activities.
Truecaller AI Call Scanner feature availability
In order to use the Truecaller AI Call Scanner feature, users must have Truecaller's premium membership. Currently, it is available in the US for Android users. However, the feature is expected to come to other countries in the coming weeks or months. The availability of the feature in India is not known yet.
