Sony on Tuesday announced the release of the PlayStation 5 Slim in India. The new PS5 console comes in disc and disc-less versions and comes with more storage than the regular model but with the same hardware. Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Slim in the US last October, almost three years after the console's debut.

Sony PlayStation 5 Slim: what's different
As the name suggests, the PlayStation 5 Slim is a lighter version of the gaming console. It's 25 percent lighter than the regular PS5 and it also requires around 30 percent less space. For a more detailed comparison, the regular PS5 measures 104mm x 390mm x260mm, while the PS5 Slim measures 96mm x 358mm x 216mm. The Digital Edition is even slimmer than the disc one and lighter as well.
Another key difference between the two consoles is that the PS5 Slim comes with 1TB of built-in storage, while the PS5 has 825GB of onboard storage.

The Sony PlayStation 5 Slim is powered by the x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 2 CPU coupled with the AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine, and Ray Tracing Acceleration. It packs 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. It has two USB Type-C ports and two USB Type-A ports. The PS5 Slim supports 4K 120Hz TVs and 8K TVs as well.
The PS5 Slim is backwards compatible as well so it supports PS4 games with over 4,000 titles that you can play on it. It offers Tempest 3D AudioTech, 4K gaming at 60 FPS, and ray tracing support.
