Confirming various rumours and leaks, Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in Paris on July 10th. The stage will witness the launch of new foldables, new wearables, and many more. These include the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. While we wait for the announcement, the price details of the foldables have been tipped. Another report reveals the camera details of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and this suggests it will be missing out on a major upgrade found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra this year.
New Samsung foldables will be more expensive than last year?
- The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 prices have been tipped, courtesy of Sudhanshu Ambhore.
- According to him, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is tipped to cost €2,200 (around Rs 1,96,500) for the 12GB+256GB model, €2,300 (around Rs 2,05,400) for the 12GB+512GB variant, and €2,580 (around Rs 2,30,400) for the 12GB+1TB variant.
- On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is tipped to cost €1,330 (around Rs 1,18,800) for the 12GB+256GB model and €1,450 (around Rs 1,29,500) for the 12GB+512GB trim
- In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 launched at EUR 1,199 (about Rs 1,07,300) for the 256GB storage and EUR 1,319 (around Rs 1,18,000) for the 512GB variant in the European market.
- These are quite expensive prices for the foldables and in line with that, acclaimed tipster Max Jambor notes that these prices are inaccurate. We suggest you take this leak with a pinch of salt.
- An earlier report noted there would be a $100 price hike over the Galaxy Z Fold 5 from last year.
- Either way, reservations for the new foldables have already begun in India and globally.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 camera details tipped
Another report (via) shed some light on the camera details of the phone. This suggests there may not be any major changes/upgrades over the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It is expected to feature the same camera setup as its predecessor. This means we will miss out on the new 50MP 5x telephoto camera found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra and will be limited to the existing 3x sensor. This switch introduced the option to capture portrait/bokeh photos at 5x zoom.
So if you are looking for a versatile camera setup rather than a modern foldable form factor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is your best bet.
