Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra features

Galaxy Watch 7

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7’s 40mm variant offers a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED always-on-display with a sapphire crystal glass display, while the 44mm model has a larger 1.5-inch display much like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 which was unveiled last year.

The smartwatch comes equipped with the Exynos W1000 chipset, which is said to be 3 times faster than the Exynos W930 chipset, which powers the predecessor. It offers 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and operates on Wear OS 5 with One UI 6 Watch, which is claimed to provide several upgrades for a smooth experience.

The Galaxy Watch 7 has an improved BioActive Sensor that offers increased accuracy and allows users to track advanced glycation end products (AGEs) from their wrist with an AGEs Index. This will help users to monitor their metabolic health and biological ageing. The smartwatch includes an advanced AI algorithm for sleep analysis and the FDA-authorised Sleep Apnea feature.

The smartwatch also offers upgraded Heart Rate monitoring for real-time readings and alerts for abnormally high or low heart rates. Furthermore, the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) detects irregular heart rhythms suggestive of atrial fibrillation. The Galaxy Watch 7 also has electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure (BP) monitoring features, allowing users to track their heart health.

The 40mm variant features a 300mAh battery and the 44mm variant has a 425mAh unit. Both watches support fast charging. It offers 5ATM + IP68 ratings, indicating the watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters for 10 minutes, and dustproof, while MIL-STD-810H suggests it meets military standards for durability and ruggedness. It also includes LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Wi-Fi 2.4+5GHz, GPS (L1+L5)/ Glonass/ Beidou/ Galileo, among others.

Galaxy Watch Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is a competitor of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, as it is designed to be durable and rugged. It offers a 47mm size with a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED always-on-display and 3,000 nits of peak brightness, similar to the Watch Ultra 2. It includes a Quick Button that allows users to control workouts, map other functions, and activate an Emergency Siren.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra offers a similar chipset, operating system, and much more, like the regular Galaxy Watch 7. However, the Ultra variant comes with a bigger battery, which is 590mAh, which is claimed to offer up to 100 hours in power-saving mode. This battery capacity is also bigger than the Apple’s Watch Ultra 2, which has a 564mAh battery.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra also features a Titanium Grade 4 frame, compared to the Grade 5 frame on the Apple Watch Ultra 2, for extreme conditions, and it has the same 10ATM + IP68 rating and the MIL-STD-810H as the Galaxy Watch 7. It is suitable for shallow-water activities like swimming in the ocean but not for high-pressure water activities or diving. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 offers IP6X and MIL-STD 810H ratings.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra offers health capabilities similar to those of the Galaxy Watch, and it lets users track workouts such as swimming, cycling, and running. It also uses AI to measure your maximum cycling power with new Functional Threshold Power (FTP) metrics. It also offers a Personalized HR Zone for optimal workout intensity.

Galaxy Ring

The Samsung Galaxy Ring has 24/7 health monitoring features. It offers advanced sleep analysis with a powerful AI algorithm to help understand sleep patterns and improve habits. It includes features like Sleep Score, snoring analysis, movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate for detailed sleep quality analysis.

The Galaxy Ring is equipped with Galaxy AI that helps users generate detailed health reports with various metrics. The Energy Score increases awareness of how health impacts daily life and provides recommendations based on your physical state. It also comes with a Heart Rate Alert, Live Heart Rate Check, and more that monitor your heart rate continuously.

For protection against water and dust, it features 10 ATM, IP68 ratings with a Titanium Grade 5 frame, indicating similar protection to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The battery ranges from 18mAh to 23.5mAh, depending on the size, and is claimed to offer up to 7 days of battery life on a single charge. However, the company notes several features will be available depending on the region.
