Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra camera upgrades tipped once again
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra camera details
- Tipster Sperandio4Tech on X (formerly Twitter) posted that the yet-to-be-launched Galaxy S25 Ultra could see two significant sensor upgrades.
- First, the ultrawide sensor might be updated to a new version of the 1/2.76-inch JN1 sensor, replacing the current 1/2.55-inch sensor in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
- This change would make the new sensor slightly smaller. Additionally, the resolution of this sensor could increase from 12MP to 50MP.
- Secondly, as per the tipster, the 3x telephoto lens might also be upgraded.
- The new sensor for this lens could be a 1/3-inch Isocell sensor, slightly larger compared to the 1/3.52-inch sensor used in the predecessor's 3x telephoto lens.
- The resolution of this sensor is rumoured to increase from 10MP to 50MP, which corroborates a recent report.
- The 200MP main sensor on the Ultra variant might see no upgrades.
- Additionally, the tipster mentioned that Samsung is working on new algorithms to enhance the quality of photos and videos.
It looks like many things are going on to improve the Galaxy S25 Ultra's camera. While the Galaxy S24 Ultra features four sensors, a tipster recently mentioned that the successor phone might feature only three cameras instead of four. However, later, it was reported that the upcoming Ultra model would retain four camera sensors like its predecessors.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series might be launched in January 2025, and till then, we are expected to come across several speculations regarding the upcoming flagship series. Before that, Samsung will likely host a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10th, where it will unveil the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, alongside other products.
