Redmi Note 13R with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 launched in China: price, specs

Redmi Note 13R has been officially launched in China as a new Note 13 series offering. The handset succeeds the Redmi Note 12R and brings upgrades to the battery capacity, display refresh rate, and fast charging speeds. The Redmi Note 13R is priced at RMB 1,399 (around Rs 16,400) for the 6GB/ 128GB storage model, RMB 1,599 (approx Rs 18,500) for the 8GB/128GB variant, RMB 1,799 (around Rs 21,100) for the 8GB/256GB version, RMB 1,999 (around Rs 23,400) for the 12GB/256GB model, and RMB 2,199 (around Rs 25,800) for 12GB/512GB variant.

What’s new on the Redmi Note 13R?

Redmi Note 13R succeeds the Redmi Note 12R from last year. Both phones have the same Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and this enables 5G network support. The display size is also the same at 6.79-inch but the refresh rate is bumped to 120Hz from 90Hz. This should offer smoother transitions and a scrolling experience.

We also get the same 50MP + 2MP dual-camera setup on the back but the front camera is bumped to 8MP from a 5MP lens on the predecessor. Lastly, the battery capacity is also improved to 5,030mAh capacity from 5,000mAh cell. The fast charging speed takes a significant jump from 18W to 33W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 13R 5G features a 6.79-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2460 x 1080 pixels resolution, 550nit brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, DC Dimming, TUV Rheinland hardware-level low blue light certification, and TUV Rheinland rhythm-friendly certification.

The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU for graphics. The handset comes in multiple models: 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128G, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB. The Redmi phone measures 168.60 X 76.28 X 8.22mm and weighs 205 grams.

In terms of cameras, the Redmi Note 13R features a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP macro sensor. There is an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The handset has a 5,030mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.

The device is equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. The Android version details are not revealed at the moment but has HyperOS custom skin.
