Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly developing the new Redmi K50 series which will succeed the Redmi K40. It is expected that the upcoming Redmi K50 series will consist of Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and Redmi K50 Pro+. Now a Chinese tipster has uncovered some key specifications for the Redmi K50 Pro+. This is similar to the previous generation Redmi K40 lineup, which too consisted of the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+. Redmi had also launched a Redmi K40 Game Enhanced edition. Notably, the Redmi K40 debuted in the Indian market as the Xiaomi Mi 11X.

Redmi K50 Pro+ specifications leaked

A tipster has leaked key specifications of the Redmi K50 Pro+ on Weibo (via). The Redmi K50 Pro+ is tipped to get an AMOLED panel with a hole punch cutout for the front camera at the top and an in-display fingerprint reader. Like, the previous generation Redmi K40 Pro+, the upcoming Redmi K50 Pro+ will come with a 120Hz high refresh. The next-generation Snapdragon 800 series processor from Qualcomm, which is the Snapdragon 898 SoC, is expected to power the upcoming Redmi K50 Pro+ smartphone.

The vanilla Redmi K50 model was earlier tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC. However, Gizmochina reports that the Redmi K50 might be powered by the Snapdragon 888. This can be true given the fact that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 will soon be a year old. The Redmi K50 series of smartphones is likely to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and may also support 67W fast charging.

The optics department on the Redmi K50 Pro+ might be benefitting from a 108MP main camera. A periscope zoom lens will also make its way into the camera housing as part of the expected triple camera setup. The vanilla Redmi K50 has been reported to get a 64MP main camera. The Redmi K50 series is expected to be launched sometime in February 2022 in China.
