All future Realme smartphones to be AI-enabled, every GT series phone to be a ‘flagship killer’: Chase Xu, VP of Realme
Realme's top-tier GT series has made a comeback into the Indian and global markets after a gap of two years. Post the Realme GT 6 launch in Milan, Chase Xu, VP and President of Global Marketing spoke to 91mobiles and threw light on the company's promise to make every phone AI-enabled.
Different levels of AI for different price segments
With AI adoption heavily gaining momentum across the industry, Realme has announced that every phone it launches will have some level of AI integration in the device. This would be heavily dependent on the price segment. The flagship tier GT series would come with the most advanced AI features, while the famed number series would focus on AI integration in entertainment and photography. For the entry-level segment, the focus would be on using AI to improve the efficiency of the device.

No GT series phone if it's not a 'flagship-killer'
During the launch of the Realme GT 6, the company claimed that every GT phone henceforth would be a 'flagship killer'. If it doesn't live up to that promise, the device would not be released. Mr Xu also announced that they would focus on launching at least two GT series phones every year, with a 'Pro' variant also coming in the near future.
240W charging tech raises the price of the phone
The most pertinent question was why the downgrade in the Realme GT 6's charging speed, since the Realme GT 5 came with record-breaking 240W fast charging tech. According to Mr Xu, the company wanted to keep the costs in check and instead concentrated on today's users' need of battery longevity rather than ultra-fast charging. He emphasised that the GT 6 nevertheless comes with 120W SuperVOOC fast charging support and a bigger 5,500mAh battery, which adapts better to the needs of the young user. Realme this time has instead focussed on providing a more improved display, with a record-breaking 6000nits peak brightness support.
Building an AIoT ecosystem of Realme products
Besides the reintroduction of the GT series to the global market, the company also has plans to build an entire ecosystem of IoT products to supports its smartphones. For this, the company is heaving investing in TWS, tablets and more wearables in the near future.
Shifting focus to the mid-premium segment
The brand is renewing its focus on the mid to mid-premium segment as it believes the consumer's mindset and needs have shifted there. Realme says it will focus on bringing more feature-rich phones in the mid-premium segment basis user feedback.
