Realme GT 6 vs Xiaomi Civi 14 performance comparison: which affordable flagship performs better?

The Realme GT 6 (review) is the brand’s new performance-focused entry in the affordable flagship segment, starting at a price of Rs 40,999 in India. The price point puts it in direct competition with the Xiaomi 14 Civi (review), and both these phones share the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. On that note, we’ll be doing a performance comparison between both smartphones to find out which device delivers a better performance output.

In this comparison, we’ll be comparing the top RAM + storage variants of both smartphones. 

Geekbench

The Geekbench benchmark helps us evaluate the CPU capabilities of a smartphone. The Realme GT 6 scored 1852 on the single-core test and 4761 on the multi-core test, while the Xiaomi 14 Civi registered 1913 on the single-core test and 5087 on the multi-core test.

Despite using the same chipset, the Xiaomi 14 Civi registers better scores in both single-core and multi-core tests and should deliver better performance output in tasks like gaming, web browsing, photo/video editing, etc.

AnTuTu

The AnTuTu benchmark evaluates a smartphone’s comprehensive performance output in various aspects, such as its CPU, GPU, memory (RAM + storage), and UX, which stands for user experience. The Realme GT 6 registered a higher aggregate score of 15,01,830 on the AnTuTu benchmark, compared to the Xiaomi 14 Civi’s aggregate score of 14,43,011.

The Realme GT 6 garners better scores in the memory aspect due to its higher RAM capacity and has a higher score in the user experience aspect compared to the Xiaomi 14 Civi.

CPU throttle

We use the burnout benchmark app to assess the performance output of a smartphone when it is throttled. In the benchmark test, the Realme GT 6 registered a performance output of 40.5 percent, while the Xiaomi 14 Civi offers a marginally better performance output of 40.8 percent. Both phones showcase a nearly equal amount of performance drop under throttling, so the result ends in a tie.

Winner: Tie

Gaming

The final test on the list is the gaming test. We played games like COD: Mobile, Real Racing 3 and BGMI on both phones to gauge their real-world performance. In Real Racing 3, the Realme GT 6 averages around 60FPS while the Xiaomi 14 Civi offers around 54FPS. Here’s how both phones did in COD: Mobile and BGMI.

In BGMI, at ‘Smooth’ graphics and ‘Extreme’ frame rate settings, both phones deliver around 60FPS consistently. When it comes to thermals, the Realme GT 6 registers an aggregate temperature rise of 19 degrees Celsius (7 degrees average) across 1.5 hours of gaming. The Xiaomi 14 showcased an aggregate temperature rise of 23 degrees Celsius (8 degrees average). The Realme GT 6 wins the gaming round due to its better average performance and thermal management.

Verdict

In our performance comparison, the Realme GT 6 clinches the victory against the Xiaomi 14 Civi. It offers better gaming performance, heats less compared to the Xiaomi 14 Civi, and has a higher-capacity RAM variant. The Realme GT 6 is a better choice for power users and gamers who want top-notch performance under Rs 45,000. 

The Xiaomi 14 Civi has more to offer than just its performance prowess. The device comes with an excellent rear camera system, especially tuned by Lecia, which gives it a lot of flexibility in various scenarios. If you’re someone who prefers a robust camera system on a smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Civi seems to be a better option at this price point.
