The iQOO Neo 9 Pro (review) demonstrates superior performance compared to the Realme GT 6 (review), as observed in our comparison. However, we also aim to assess whether it is better optimised in terms of battery usage. It’s worth noting that the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is equipped with a slightly smaller 5,160mAh battery, whereas the Realme GT 6 features a larger 5,500mAh battery. We conducted a series of tests, including synthetic benchmarks and real-world usage scenarios, to determine which smartphone lasts longer on a single charge.

PCMark
PCMark is a synthetic benchmark app that tests a device’s battery performance by running a series of tasks until the battery life drops to 20 percent. The larger battery cell helps the Realme GT 6 achieve 14 hours 45 minutes in the test, whereas the iQOO Neo 9 Pro returned with a 14-hour score.

Video streaming
In the video streaming test, we played the same YouTube video with identical resolution, brightness, and volume levels on both devices for half an hour each. The Realme GT 6 consumed 4 percent of its battery life, equivalent to 220mAh, compared to the iQOO smartphone, which used 5 percent, or approximately 258mAh.

Gaming test
The Realme GT 6 also offers better optimisation for gaming. After playing BGMI, COD, and Real Racing for half an hour each, the handset consumed an average of 5.6 percent of its battery life, equivalent to 308mAh. In comparison, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro’s battery life dropped by approximately 345mAh, or 6.7 percent.

Charging speeds
The Realme GT 6 and iQOO Neo 9 Pro both feature 120W fast-charging solutions, with a compatible charger included in the box. The iQOO Neo 9 Pro charges relatively quickly, taking just 23 minutes to go from 20 percent to 100 percent. In contrast, the Realme smartphone takes 26 minutes, which is expected due to its larger battery compared to the iQOO Neo 9 Pro.

Verdict
The Realme GT 6 seems to be the better choice for users prioritising extended usage on a single charge. Its larger battery capacity allows the smartphone to perform well not just in synthetic benchmarks, but also in real-world usage.
However, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro’s battery optimisation is equally impressive, trailing only slightly behind the Realme smartphone. Additionally, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro has an advantage over the Realme in terms of raw performance.
