Realme GT 6 AI features explained
Realme GT 6 boasts flagship-level hardware which we’ll get to later but the phone also offers several AI features. Starting with ‘AI Smart Removal’, inspired by Google’s Magic Eraser, lets you remove unwanted objects from your photos and fill up the empty spots to match the background. AI Night Vision, as the name suggests, adds an artificial brightness to your lowlight photos. Realme says this AI feature can “capture clear videos just like phones equipped with a 1-inch sensor.”
AI Smart Loop lets you select content on the screen, drag it, and share it with third-party apps. So you select the content, drag it, and pull it to a side wheel of apps that you can share the details with. These AI features are available for free on the Realme GT 6.
Realme GT 6 specifications, features
Realme GT 6 features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an 8T LTPO panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphone comes with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It also boasts 6,000 nits of peak brightness, which should give you excellent outdoor visibility. Realme already offers the GT 6T with the same 6,000 nits of peak brightness, which we found “only achievable in a small display area, with specific colours, and for a brief duration to prevent display burn-ins.”
Under the hood, the phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. There are a few phones in India that use this chipset including the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, POCO F6, and Xiaomi 14 Civi. It’s the latest chipset from Qualcomm and part of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 series. The smartphone comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.
Realme GT 6 boasts an impressive array of cameras. It has a 50MP Sony LYT-808 OIS primary camera, a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto camera, and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera. For selfies, you get a 32MP front camera on the Realme GT 6.
The smartphone packs a 5,500mAh battery with 120W SuperVOOC charging technology. Realme says the phone will maintain over 80 percent of battery capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. On the software front, it runs realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14. It also features Wi-Fi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port.
Realme GT 6 alternatives
In India, Realme GT 6 would compete with the Xiaomi 14 Civi and POCO F6 as all three devices are powered by the same Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Their prices vary, however, with the POCO F6 being the most affordable out of the lot and the Xiaomi 14 Civi priced above Rs 40,000. The Xiaomi phone offers a more premium design language along with Leica-backed cameras, while the Realme GT 6 is more performance-driven and offers a bigger battery and faster charging. Another rival for the GT 6 would be the iQOO Neo 9 Pro, which is one of the best-performing phones in India.
