Realme 12 4G specifications, features

The Realme 12 4G sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 2000nits peak brightness, 2400 X 1080 pixels resolution, 92.65 screen-to-body ratio, and rainwater smart touch support. Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset paired with Adreno GPU for graphics.

The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB/256GB expandable storage. There’s support for 8GB dynamic RAM. The handset boots Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 custom skin out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.

Moving to optics, the Realme 12 4G has a 50MP Sony LYT-600 camera with OIS support and a 2MP secondary camera. There is a 16MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. There is a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support but the brand is offering an 80W adapter in the box.

What’s new on Realme 12 4G?

Realme 12 4G succeeds the Realme 11 4G, which launched back in August 2023. Firstly, the screen size is bumped to 6.67 inches from a slightly smaller 6.4-inch size. Though the panel used is AMOLED, the refresh rate is bumped to 120Hz from 90Hz. This should result in better and smoother animations and UI scrolling experience.

The MediaTek Helio G99 is being replaced with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset. The cameras appear to be getting a notable upgrade as we get a 50MP Sony LYT600 primary camera compared to a 108MP camera. Though the pixel size appears larger on paper, the Sony lens should result in better images with rich colours. The battery and fast charging speeds remain unchanged.

All said and done, the Realme 12 4G brings upgrades to screen refresh rate, better cameras, and the latest Android 14 OS.
