  • The phone features a 6.35-inch OLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, 6,330mAh battery and 100W charging.
  • There’s no news yet on an India launch, neither has there been a BIS sighting.

POCO has listed the POCO X8s for pre-order on Xiaomi’s official Shopee store in Vietnam, revealing its specifications, pricing and availability. The phone stands out as the compact model in the X8 series with its 6.35-inch display, making it a smaller alternative to the other models in the lineup. It also packs a 6,330mAh battery and supports 100W wired charging.

The launch follows the phone’s appearance on international certification platforms and Geekbench, which already confirmed a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and up to 12GB of RAM.

POCO X8s price and availability

The POCO X8s is listed in two configurations in Vietnam. The 8GB + 256GB storage variant costs VND 11,500,000 (around Rs 42,000), while the 12GB + 512GB storage model is priced at VND 14,000,000 (around Rs 51,000).

Launch vouchers bring the prices down to VND 8,242,500 (around Rs 30,000) and VND 10,190,000 (around Rs 37,000), respectively. Buyers also get a free pair of Redmi Buds 6 Play with their pre-orders. Deliveries are scheduled between November 6th and November 9th.

The phone is available in White, Black and Blue. Its model number, 2609CPC5FG, has also appeared on certification platforms in Singapore, Europe and Thailand, pointing to a possible wider rollout. However, these listings don’t confirm availability in every market. An India launch is particularly uncertain as we’ve seen no BIS sighting.

POCO X8s specifications

As per the listing, the POCO X8s features a 6.35-inch OLED display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It also packs a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging, IP68-rated dust and water resistance, and Xiaomi HyperOS.

The phone’s compact screen is its main point of difference from the larger POCO X8 series models. The battery capacity and charging speed could also appeal to buyers who want a smaller phone without giving up endurance or fast charging.

There is some confusion around its possible Redmi counterpart. While reports link the Chinese model number M583CF to a Redmi-branded device, the POCO X8s does not match the Redmi Turbo 5 currently sold in India. The latter has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset and a larger 7,540mAh battery.

The POCO X8s is worth considering at its discounted pre-order price, especially if you want a compact phone with an OLED display, a large battery and fast charging. However, it’s worth waiting for independent reviews to assess its camera performance and battery life. Buyers in India and other markets should hold off for now, as POCO hasn’t confirmed a wider rollout.
