POCO M6 Plus 5G launching soon in India, hints BIS listing

Smartphone brand POCO is planning to bring a new affordable M-series phone for Indian consumers. While there is no official confirmation, a report says that the POCO M6 Plus 5G will soon launch in India. Additionally, the phone has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, hinting at an imminent launch. Here are the expected details of the rumoured POCO M6 Plus 5G.

POCO M6 Plus 5G India launch details

According to a report by GizmoChina, the upcoming POCO M6 Plus 5G was spotted on HyperOS Code with “N19” as its model number and codename “breeze.” 

While the company has yet to come up with the official details regarding the POCO M6 Plus 5G, the report mentions that it will be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 13R, which was unveiled in China this month as a successor to the Redmi Note 12R.

POCO M6 Plus 5G BIS certification details

The POCO M6 Plus 5G has appeared on the BIS certification website with the model number 24065PC95I, which suggests that the phone’s launch is imminent in India and could debut next month. Apart from this, no other details have surfaced online through the certification website.

POCO M6 Plus 5G: what to expect

The POCO M6 Plus 5G will be the first Plus model in the series and will cater to affordable smartphone buyers. To recall, the POCO M5 was launched in India in 2022 at a starting price of Rs 12,499. Meanwhile, this year, the POCO M6 Pro 4G was unveiled globally for USD 179, around Rs 15,000.

Additionally, the Redmi Note 13R was unveiled at a starting price of CNY 1,399, approximately Rs 16,000, for the 6GB+128GB variant. Therefore, we can expect the POCO M6 Plus 5G to be priced similarly.

Although there is no official confirmation, if the POCO M6 Plus 5G comes as a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 13R, the phone might feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, up to 12GB RAM, a 5,030mAh battery, and more. Here are the expected specifications of the POCO M6 Plus 5G, based on the recently launched Redmi Note 13R.

• Display: The POCO M6 Plus 5G might boast a 6.79-inch FHD+ 120Hz LCD display with 550 nits peak brightness compared to 1300 nits peak brightness on the M6 Pro 4G.
• Chipset: This Plus variant might feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which is comparatively faster than the M6 Pro’s MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra SoC.
• Rear cameras: The M6 Plus 5G is anticipated to flaunt a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera and a 2MP macro sensor. Meanwhile, the M6 Pro 4G packs a triple camera with 64MP, 8MP and 2MP sensors.
• Selfie camera: The POCO M6 Plus 5G will likely feature an 8MP front camera, while the Pro model offers a 16MP sensor.
• Storage: The Plus variant is expected to offer up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage, which we have also seen on the POCO M6 Pro 4G.
• Software: Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14
• Other features: USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Infrared sensor, Bluetooth 5.1, dual SIM support and more
