Phones launched last week: Realme GT 6, Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, OPPO Reno 12 series, and more

The month of June has been pretty busy with smartphones launching every now and then. Last week witnessed the release of several new phones, including some well-known names like the Realme GT 6, Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, OPPO Reno 12 series, and more.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra landed in India on June 18th, as the top-of-the-line mode of the Motorola Edge 50 family. 

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra specifications:

  • Display: a 6.7-inch pOLED panel that supports a 144Hz refresh rate and 2,500 nits of peak brightness.
  • SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno 735 GPU.
  • RAM, storage: 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage
  • Battery: 4,500mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support. 
  • Rear camera: a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 64MP telephoto shooter, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
  • Front camera: a 50MP snapper for selfies and video chats.
  • OS: Android 14-based Hello UI out of the box. 

Price: The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra retails for Rs 54,999 for the sole 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. 

OPPO Reno 12 series

After a successful debut in China, the OPPO Reno 12 series launched in the global market on June 19th. The lineup includes two devices: the vanilla OPPO Reno 12 and the OPPO Reno 12 Pro

OPPO Reno 12 series specifications:

  • Display: a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz display with up to 1200nits peak brightness.
  • SoC: MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC paired with ARM Mali-G615 GPU.
  • RAM, storage: up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
  • Battery: a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. 
  • OPPO Reno 12 cameras: a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 32MP selfie snapper. 
  • OPPO Reno 12 Pro camera: a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 50MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP selfie shooter.
  • OS: Android 14-based ColorOS 14.1 skin. 

Price: OPPO Reno 12 starts at EUR 499 (Approx. Rs 45,000), for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. On the other hand, the OPPO Reno 12 Pro retails at EUR 599, (Approx. Rs 53,600), for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model.

Realme GT 6

The Realme GT 6 (review) hit the Indian shores on June 20th, as a souped-up version of the Realme GT 6T (review). The highlight of the device is its 6,000nits peak brightness which should deliver exceptional screen brightness while watching HDR content.

Realme GT 6 specifications:

  • Display: a 6.78-inch 1.5K 8T LTPO AMOLED panel with support for a 120Hz refresh rate and 6,000 peak brightness.
  • SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno 735 GPU.
  • RAM, storage: up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
  • Battery: a 5,500mAh battery with 120W SuperVOOC charging support.
  • Rear camera: a 50MP OIS primary camera, a 50MP telephoto shooter, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.
  • Front camera: a 32MP snapper for selfies and video calls.
  • OS: realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14.

Price: The Realme GT 6 starts at Rs 40,999 for the base 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, Rs 42,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, and Rs 44,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage option. 

Vivo Y58 5G

The Vivo Y58 5G saw the light of day on June 20th. It launched as a successor to the Vivo Y56 in India. 

Vivo Y58 5G specifications: 

    • Display: a 6.72-inch LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,024 nits of peak brightness support.
    • SoC: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno 613 GPU.
    • RAM, storage: 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, expandable through micro SD card.
    • Battery: a 6,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.
    • Rear camera: a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth camera.
  • Front camera: an 8MP shooter for selfies and video chats. 
  • OS: Android 14-based Funtouch OS out of the box. 

Price: The Vivo Y58 5G is available in sole 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option for Rs 19,499. 

Infinix Note 40 5G

The Infinix Note 40 5G made its debut in India on June 21st, after making its global debut last month. Infinix claims that the Note 40 5G is India’s first phone under Rs 20,000 to offer a 108MP camera, 120Hz AMOLED screen, and wireless charging support.  

Infinix Note 40 5G specifications: 

  • Display: a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1300nits peak brightness support.
  • SoC: a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC paired with IMG BXM-8-256 GPU.
  • RAM, storage: 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
  • Battery: a 5,000mAh battery with 33W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
  • Rear camera: a 108MP primary camera with OIS support paired with dual 2MP sensors.
  • Front camera: a 32MP shooter for selfies and video chats.
  • OS: Android 14-based XOS 14 custom skin out of the box.

Price: The Infinix Note 40 5G is avaible at Rs 19,999 for the sole 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
