OPPO Reno 12 series full specifications, price and colour variants leak ahead of global launch

Highlights
  • The OPPO Reno 12 series could sport AI features like AI Eraser 2.0, AI Clear Face, AI Portrait Retouching, AI LinkBoost, etc.
  • Reno 12 series is expected to feature up to 1200 nits peak brightness.
  • Surprisingly, the leaked Reno 12 series spec sheet suggests a 4K30fps video shooting option while the Reno 11 series supported 60 frames per second.

OPPO Reno 12 series is anticipated to launch in the global market soon. Although the company has been hush about the new phones, pretty much their entire details have surfaced online. The colours could be similar to the Chinese edition but OPPO could release different memory configurations globally. The newly tipped global prices are lower than what was reported earlier. Here, take a look:

Reno 12 series global price, memory, colours (tipped)

As per tipster Paras Guglani, the Reno 12 could be priced at €457.83 (about Rs 41,104.51) for the 12+256GB model and the Reno 12 Pro could be carrying a €549.40 (around Rs 49,325.77) price tag. Looks like OPPO isn’t launching the 16GB variant in the global market.

Both Reno 12 smartphones could come with 4/8/12GB of RAM expansion and up to 1TB storage expansion

The regular Reno 12 is said to launch globally in Black Brown and Astro Silver colours. The Pro model could land in Nebula Silver and Nebula Black models.

Other Reno 12 series specifications (expected)

  • Processor: As per the tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, the OPPO Reno 12 series is expected to run on MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, which is different from the Dimensity 8250 inside the Reno 12 China and Dimensity 9200+ SoC inside the Reno 12 Pro China. Interestingly enough, the Dimensity 7300- Energy is rumoured to be a successor to the Dimensity 7050 (found inside the Reno 11 global variant) and not the Dimensity 7200 chipset.

  • Battery: Both Reno phones could be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. It’s like getting the battery of the Reno 11 global model and the charging capability of the Reno 12 Pro (Indian variant).
  • Rear cameras: The Reno 12 Pro could ship with a 50MP (Sony LYT-600) main camera+ 8MP (112º Sony IMX355) ultrawide shooter+ 50MP (Samsung JN5 sensor) telephoto snapper with 2x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.

The setup has a newer Sony 50MP sensor and higher-res telephoto and ultrawide shooters.

Compared to the Pro model, OPPO could use a 2MP macro camera as the Reno 12’s third rear camera. That would be a downgrade compared to a 32MP telephoto sensor on the Reno 11 (India).
  • Front cameras: While the front camera on the vanilla models stays the same on Reno 11 and Reno 12, the Reno 12 Pro could benefit from a 50MP shooter compared to the Reno 11 Pro’s 32MP selfie taker.
  • Software: The device could bring ColorOS 14.1 based on Android 14 along with AI features like AI Eraser 2.0, AI Clear Face, AI Portrait Retouching, etc. The Reno 11 series received the AI Eraser feature in April of this year. The new series appears to have more AI capabilities in store.
  • Other changes: Among other things, the phones could march in with a brighter display (up to 1200 nits peak brightness), Gorilla Glass 7i (Reno 12) and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 (Reno 12 Pro) protection on display, and 4K30fps rear video recording (as opposed to 4K60fps on Reno 11 series).
