OPPO Reno 12 series launching today in India: time, how to watch livestream, expected price, specs

OPPO Reno 12 series including Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G are launching today in India. The phones are already available in their home market and OPPO India has been teasing the phone’s features through its website, socials and other channels. We will brief you on their specifications and expected prices. But first, here’s where you can watch the launch event live:

OPPO is live-streaming the Reno 12 series launch event through its YouTube page. The video link is below and you can watch it here too. The program starts at 12 PM. 

OPPO Reno 12 series India price (expected)

In the global markets, the OPPO Reno 12 5G starts at EUR 499 (about Rs 44,700), for the 12+256GB variant and the Reno 12 Pro 5G carries a starting price tag of EUR 599 (around Rs 53,600) for the 12+512GB model.

In India, we expect the Reno 12 to start below Rs 35,000 and the Reno 12 Pro to be priced under Rs 45,000. Meanwhile, the Reno 11 landed in India at a starting price of Rs 29,999, and the Reno 12 Pro started at Rs 39,999.

OPPO Reno 12 series specifications (expected)

• Display: OPPO Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1200nits peak brightness. The predecessors had only 950 nits of peak brightness.
  
  The Reno 12 has Gorilla Glass 7i protection while the Pro variant offers Gorilla Glass Victus 2 shield.
• Processor: OPPO has packed in a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC within these phones. This tops at 2.5GHz clock speed whereas the Dimensity 8200 inside the Reno 11 Pro maxed at 3.1GHz. The company is likely to ship both phones with the same chipset.
• Memory: The Reno 12 may land with an 8+256GB configuration while the Pro model may carry 12+256GB and 12+512GB options.
• Software: We are likely to get ColorOS 14.1 based on Android 14.
• Cameras: OPPO Reno 12 could bring a 50MP (OIS)+ 8MP (ultrawide)+ 2MP (macro) triplet and a 32MP selfie shooter. The Reno 12 Pro, on the other hand, could have a 50MP (OIS)+ 8MP (ultrawide)+ 50MP (telephoto) troika. The front camera on the Pro model could be a 50MP snapper.
  
  The Reno 11 series had a similar set of cameras on both models. OPPO has decided to bring some distinction between the two models this time around.
• Battery: Unlike cameras, the battery size and charging speed could be 5,000mAh and 80W on both variants.
