OPPO Reno 12 5G, Reno 12 Pro 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC launched globally: price, specs

Following the launch of the OPPO Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G recently in China, the brand has unveiled them for the global audience. Both smartphones have a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, a 5,000mAh battery, 80W charging speed, an IP65 rating, several AI features, and much more. OPPO Reno 12 5G, Reno 12 Pro 5G price

The all-new OPPO Reno 12 5G starts in Europe for EUR 499, around Rs 44,653, for the 12GB+256GB storage variant.
Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno 12 Pro 5G is priced at EUR 599, approximately Rs 53,601, for the 12GB+512GB variant.
The regular variant is offered in Matte Brown, Sunset Pink, and Astro Silver colours, while the Pro variant is offered in Space Brown, Sunset Gold, and Nebula Silver colours.
These OPPO smartphones are expected to go official in other markets, including India, in the coming weeks.

OPPO Reno 12 5G, Reno 12 Pro 5G specifications

The OPPO Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G boast a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz display with up to 1200nits peak brightness. The regular variant packs Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while the Pro model comes with Victus 2 for protection against scratch.

They are equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoCs paired with ARM Mali-G615 GPU and offer up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. These phones operate on Android 14-based ColorOS 14.1.

The Reno 12 5G packs a 50MP OIS-enabled main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie shooter. On the other hand, the Reno 12 Pro 5G has a 50MP OIS-enabled main, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and 50MP telephoto sensor, along with a 50MP selfie camera.

Both Reno smartphones house a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging technology and also include features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, an IP65 rating, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and more.

These phones also offer AI features like AI LinkBoost for better call connectivity, AI Eraser 2.0 to remove unwanted objects from images, AI Best Face to increase clarity and reduce distortion, and AI Toolbox, including AI Writer, AI Summary, and AI Speak.

What’s new in the OPPO Reno 12 5G, Reno 12 Pro 5G?

The Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G have been launched as successors to the OPPO Reno 11 5G and Reno 11 Pro 5G, launched last year. The newly launched phones feature the same display but have increased brightness levels compared to 800nits of peak brightness and 950nits of peak brightness on the Reno 11 5G and Reno 11 Pro 5G, respectively.

The global variants of the Reno 12 5G series have the Dimensity 7300-Energy SoCs. Meanwhile, the China variant comes with Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition and Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipsets. In comparison, the Reno 11 5G features the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, while the Reno 11 Pro 5G has the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset. The 32MP telephoto camera on the Reno 11 5G is replaced with a 2MP marco sensor on the successor. Meanwhile, the Pro variant features an upgraded 50MP telephoto camera instead of a 32MP sensor on the Reno 11 Pro 5G. Additionally, it comes with an upgraded selfie camera.

Furthermore, the regular variant offers an 80W fast charging compared to 67W in the predecessor, while the Pro variant packs a 5,000mAh battery instead of the 4,600mAh battery seen on the Reno 11 Pro 5G.
