[Exclusive] OPPO A9 2020 price in India will be around Rs 21,000

OPPO has started sending out media invites for an event it will host in India on September 10th. The invite mentions the OPPO A9 2020 smartphone, which is also being teased in Vietnam, will be launched at the event. The teaser image shows off the OPPO A9 2020’s quad rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Separately, 91mobiles has exclusively learnt from industry sources that the OPPO A9 2020 price in India will be around Rs 21,000. Apart from this, the company is planning to launch two other affordable handsets – whose names are not known at the moment – that will be priced around Rs 15,000. Our sources also claim the launch timeline to be around mid-September, which again coincides with the A9 2020 launch schedule.

OPPO recently launched the Reno 2, Reno 2Z, Reno 2F smartphones in India and while these belong to a more premium segment, the upcoming A-series will be mid-range phones. Recently, we exclusively reported that OPPO is aiming to launch 5-6 smartphones in India by Diwali and these phones are said to be placed across premium, budget, and mid-range price points, to attract a wider audience.

We already know many of the key OPPO A9 2020 specifications thanks to a recent leak and a TENAA listing. These state that the smartphone will feature a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) display, ColorOS 6.1 custom skin, and Snapdragon 665 SoC. On the back of the handset will be a 48MP primary sensor, backed by 8MP + 2MP + 2MP lenses. The selfie camera will have 16MP resolution. It will have 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and microSD support up to 256GB. A 5,000mAh battery will power the OPPO A9 2020 and colour options will be Green, Blue, Black, and White.
