We recently conducted a performance comparison between the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite (review) and the iQOO Z9 (review) since both phones have a starting price of Rs 19,999 in India. Today, we’ll be conducting a battery comparison between the two to find out which device delivers a longer battery life and faster charging speed. Check out the results below:

PCMark test
The PCMark test evaluates the time it takes a smartphone’s battery to drop below 20 percent from 100 percent capacity using a video loop. We ran the test on both phones at an 80 percent brightness level.
You can observe in the image that despite having a bigger 5500mAh battery, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite’s result that is substantially lower than the iQOO Z9. According to the results, the iQOO Z9 should deliver a longer battery life.

Video streaming test
For the streaming test, we played the same YouTube video on both phones for 30 minutes each at 50 percent brightness and volume level to gauge their respective battery drain. The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite’s battery drain was lower compared to the iQOO Z9 which makes it the winner for this round.
Winner: OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite
Gaming test
For the gaming test, we played COD: Mobile, Real Racing 3 and BGMI on both phones to gauge their respective battery drain. Both the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite and the iQOO Z9 registered an aggregate battery drain of 18 percent (6 percent average). In terms of absolute numbers, the former dropped 990mAh while the latter dropped 900mAh. The gaming test ends in a tie.
Winner: Tie
Charging speed
The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite comes with 80W fast charging support, while the iQOO Z9 comes with up to 44W fast charging support. The former takes about 50 minutes to recharge from under 20 percent to 100 percent capacity, while the iQOO Z9 takes 62 minutes to achieve the same. The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite wins the charging speed test with a slight margin.
Winner: OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite
Verdict
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite wins against the iQOO Z9 in our battery comparison. It offers a more resilient battery, which offers longer streaming time and has a faster charging speed. If battery life and charging speeds are important aspects for you, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is the better choice between these two.
While the iQOO Z9 lost the comparison, its battery optimisation is quite excellent, as it offers a comparable output compared to the higher-capacity cell of the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite. If you can compromise slightly on battery life, the iQOO Z9 is a compelling choice that delivers significantly better performance compared to the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite.
