The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite comes with IP54 protection from dust and water splashes. It has flat corners and a brand logo in the centre of the back. The device has a pill-shaped camera island with two sensors and two flashes at the rear panel's top-left corner. However, it is slightly heavier than the Infinix Note 40 5G.
On the other hand, the Infinix Note 40 5G has a boxy design with an IP53 rating against water splashes and derbies. It has a square-shaped camera island with three cameras, a flash, and an Active Halo Lighting that glows for gaming, incoming calls, and charging.
Both phones offer a Full HD+ resolution AMOLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. This means you will get clear, sharp visuals with smooth scrolling and better gaming performance from both phones' displays. However, the Infininx Note 40 has a slightly taller screen with slimmer bezels, which can add to your viewing experience.
It also has 1300 nits peak brightness slightly better than the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite's 1200 nits peak brightness.
The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite packs the same two-year-old Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC we have seen since the previous two-generation Nord CE Lite devices. On the other hand, the Infinix Note 40 5G also ships with a slightly dated MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC under the hood.
While we're yet to test the Infinix Note 40 5G, we did test the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC to see how they fare against each other. In our testing, the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC performed slightly better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC on almost every benchmarking platform. This means you can expect a slightly better performance from the Note 40 than the Nord CE4 Lite.
The Infinix Note 40 5G features a significantly higher 108MP primary camera compared to the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5 G's 50MP camera and will provide more detailed photos. It also has two additional 2MP cameras compared to the single 2MP depth sensor of the Nord CE4 Lite.
Besides this, the Infinix Note 40 5G also offers a higher-resolution front camera at 32MP, compared to the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5 G's 16MP, providing more detail and clarity. Overall, the Infinix Note 40 5G offers superior camera specifications. However, that doesn't mean the Nord CE4 Lite's camera performance is dull. During our testing, the Nord CE4 Lite delivered satisfactory pictures with decent lighting conditions.
The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G has a larger battery capacity and it also offers significantly faster wired charging than the Note 40 5G. On the other hand, the Infinix Note 40 5G offers the added convenience of wireless charging that you don't get with the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G.
Both the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite and Infinix Note 40 should offer decent software experiences with their respective custom skins, Oxygen OS for Nord CE4 Lite and XOS for Note 40, based on the latest Android 14.
Moreover, both brands promise two major OS updates and three years of security patches with their devices.
After taking a detailed look at every aspect of the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite and Infinix Note 40, it's clear that the Infinix Note 40 is a better option among the two. However, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite provides a better battery life and faster wired charging option while offering a decent camera setup and performance.
So if you prioritise battery backup and charging speed over other features, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G will suit you the best. But if you want a good overall package, get the Infinix Note 40 5G.
