OnePlus is said to be working on a 7,000mAh battery phone. The maximum battery found within a OnePlus phone is a 6,100mAh cell and the phone is the recently launched OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. The Ace 3 Pro’s battery was designed using a proprietary tech called Glacier Battery. We assume the forthcoming 7,000mAh phone could feature this battery technology.
OnePlus 7,000mAh phone rumour
The rumour comes from oft-accurate tipster DigitalChatStation (DCS) on Weibo, who claims the Ouga Group is making a 7,000mAh battery. Ouga Group consists of OnePlus’s and OPPO’s merged R&D labs. So, an OPPO phone could also get a 7,000mAh battery.

The tipster also says the phone in the test could be a mid-range model. From his words, this is still in the early development phase and so, we may have to wait for the phone.
Meanwhile, there are other 7,000mAh phones in the market like the Itel P40 Plus, Samsung Galaxy F62 and Samsung Galaxy M51.
Before a 7,000mAh phone, OnePlus may take a stop at a 6,500mAh cell. A couple of days before, DCS claimed the Ouga Group is very much confirmed to bring a 6,500mAh phone.

In that post, DCS added that the 6,500mAh battery tech will be using a silicon material. Let’s understand what that means.
OnePlus Glacier Battery technology
Glacier Battery technology uses a new silicon-carbon anode with an energy density of 763Wh/L. That’s said to be 23.1 percent higher than contemporary graphite batteries.
Glacier Battery also employs ‘voltage stabilization architecture’ for a “consistent performance and stable, long-lasting output”.
But, the benefit we care about in this case is the batteries with this tech can be smaller in size. These batteries could offer more efficiency, charge faster, and have a longer life.
In India, we may get to experience this tech within the OnePlus 13R, if it is a rebranding of the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. Let’s see.
