OnePlus 13 rumours have been floating around with several details about the device revealed already. This is with months to go for the OnePlus 13 launch. Recent leaks have mostly been about the OnePlus 13 camera specifications. The latest one reveals details about the phone’s water and dust resistance.
OnePlus 13 to feature IP69 rating
- The latest details come from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station who’s talking about a flagship phone due to launch by the end of this year. The phone in question is believed to be the OnePlus 13.
- Here, the tipster says the OnePlus 13 will come with an IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, which is the highest rating for water and dust resistance on a smartphone.
- With IP68, the phone can be submerged in water up to 3m for around 30 minutes. IP69 gives more protection by withstanding high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
- Even IP68 would be an upgrade as the OnePlus 12 has an IP65 rating but IP69 would be the best here.
At present, only the OPPO F27 Pro+ 5G (OPPO A3 Pro in China) comes with an IP69 rating. We found the phone quite durable in our tests, which we explained in our review. Considering OnePlus uses OPPO’s resources we might just see an IP69 rating on the OnePlus 13.
OnePlus 13: what we know so far
OnePlus 13 is tipped to feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Sony LYT808 primary sensor and two LYT600 sensors. The flagship phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. OnePlus 13 is also tipped to feature a 6.8-inch 2K 8T LTPO customised micro-curved display. It could pack a 6,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. The smartphone is also tipped to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
