Nothing is rumoured to be working on a new smartphone, a more affordable offering than the Phone (2). This is dubbed as the Nothing Phone (2a), and so far the phone has been spotted on BIS along with its design and display details tipped. Now it looks like we might be seeing the Nothing Phone (2a) debut soon.
Nothing Phone (2a) launch imminent
Nothing has updated its X (Twitter) bio teasing “something is coming this week.” According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, this could suggest Nothing announcing the launch date of Phone (2a) although the brand hasn’t dropped any such hints. Another tipster Ishan Yadav also added to the speculation saying that the Nothing Phone (2a) launch isn’t too far.
Nothing Phone (2a) has also already received the BIS certification so we might just see the device arriving here soon. The Carl Pei-founded brand currently has the Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2) in its portfolio. As for the Phone (2a), it’s expected to be a more affordable offering than the Phone (2).
Nothing Phone (2a): what we know so far
Nothing Phone (2a) was recently leaked online giving us a glimpse on its design. The device is retaining the Glyph interface with a design similar to the Nothing Phone (1). It also appears to have a boxy chassis with rounded edges. But the final design could be different too.
In terms of specs, there hasn’t been much revealed so far but the Nothing Phone (2a) is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. It’s also said to come with a punch-hole camera aligned at the centre. Since the Nothing Phone (2a) is speculated to be affordable, it could come with a mid-range Snapdragon or Dimensity processor.
Nothing Phone (2) is currently priced at Rs 39,999 for the base 8GB/128GB model, and it comes in two more variants. Nothing Phone (1) also sells at a starting price of Rs 29,999.
