We have heard rumours about HMD phones making their debut for a while now. Now, a new leak has surfaced online suggesting that the brand is working on a second HMD Skyline phone, which will reportedly be called the HMD Skyline G2.

The company behind the Nokia-branded phones seems to want to revive the Lumia name in spirit with its upcoming Skyline series. Let’s look at what we can expect from the HMD Skyline G2.

HMD Skyline G2 phone is in the works

A few weeks ago, a leak suggested that a company’s upcoming Android smartphone could be a Nokia Lumia-inspired phone, the HMD Skyline. However, a new leak suggests that the HMD Skyline is not the only Skyline in development. Tipster @smashx_60 suggests that HMD is working on a second Skyline phone, the HMD Skyline G2.

It is unknown whether this second device is a successor to the previously revealed Skyline or something else. If it is a sequel, it will take some time to debut because the first one is yet to see the light of day.

The G2 will apparently sport a triple-camera configuration, similar to the original leaked device. While the features of the device’s camera setup are still a mystery, the leaker has shared some likely specifications of the sensors. The tipster also claims that HMD hopes the G2 will appeal to photographers.

Besides this, the most noticeable difference between the original handset and the G2 is the bezels of the display. The first Skyline we saw had a big chin but was relatively narrow on the sides and top. However, the G2 model features large bezels on the top and bottom.

Unlike the Skyline, which had everything from specs to a price leak, the tipster didn’t provide much details about the G2. Thus, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to learn more about this one, so stay tuned!
