Moto S50 Neo will be world’s first phone with 4 years warranty

Highlights
  • Moto S50 Neo will come with one year standard warranty and a 3-year extended warranty.
  •  The handset is speculated to be rebranded as Moto G85 globally.
  • The Moto S50 Neo will arrive with dual cameras, a 5000mAh battery, and an OLED display.

Motorola Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra are set to debut on June 25th at the product conference in China. Additionally, the Moto S50 Neo will also be debuting on the same stage. Now, the company has confirmed the phone will get a 4-year warranty in China. This is impressive and makes it the first phone in the world to come with such a long warranty.

Moto S50 Neo details

  • According to the poster images shared by the brand, the 4-year warranty includes a one-year standard warranty and a 3-year extended warranty in China.
  • POCO in India offers two years of warranty for its phones. Besides this, some models from Xiaomi, OnePlus, and others also offer 2-year warranties.
  • Meizu 20 and Meizu 21 series earlier offered a 3-year warranty during some special promotional seasons.
  • Moto S50 Neo is setting a new benchmark for warranty in the industry.
  • The company should reveal more details on how to avail of the extended warranty for the Moto S50 Neo at the time of launch.
  • The promotional images show the phone has dual-camera sensors on the back. We can see the phone in green and black colours.

What this 4-year warranty period brings to the table is that consumers can stay stress-free about device-related issues even after the standard 1-year warranty. There are reports that the Moto S50 Neo will be rebranded as Moto G85 for global markets. However, it seems unlikely that Moto G85 will arrive with a 4-year warranty.

Moto S50 Neo: what do we know so far?

If the Moto S50 Neo is a rebrand of the Moto G85 5G, the specifications should be similar. It is tipped to sport a 6.6-inch FHD+ OLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. In comparison, the Moto G84 came with a smaller 6.55-inch display.

The handset is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. This is the same setup seen on the Moto G84. The Moto G85 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC compared to the Snapdragon 695 SoC on the Moto G84. It is likely to boot Android 14 OS out of the box.

The Moto S50 Neo is also likely to feature a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS-enabled primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Again, this is a similar setup as the Moto G84. We get a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies.

The Moto S50 Neo is expected to come in Black, Green, and Blue colours.
